The time has come to update again! As everyone knows Channah is expecting a precious little girl any time now. Because she is pregnant she hasn't been able to help work on the furniture with us but she usually goes with us on our shopping trips. Channah thinks Johnnie and I have a shopping problem and that we should quit buying! How dare her! Let me tell you a little about our shopping trips. We get up bright and early and head out to pick up Johnnie. I can barely get my eyes open and Channah has decided if she has to be up at 7AM on Saturday that she is going to have fun. Johnnie has printed up this nice little paper with all of the garage sales in our area. OH BOY! It takes about 2 minutes before our car is full of laughter and everyone is ready to go. We shop til we can't go any more. We can't fit anything else into the car but that hasn't stopped us from still buying. We just leave our stuff at the garage sale and tell them we will come back to get it. We go home to get the trailer and head back to all of the locations where we have left our furniture. Its great when you pull up at a garage sale with a large white trailor! We end up with a fainting couch, a vanity, a beautiful black bed and more! Next weekend we hit the roads again. This time we head out in the convertible Camaro to garage sale. We for sure look like dorks. We pull up at a garage sale but don't get out of the car we just ask the price of a plastic shelf that Johnnie wants for storage. Thats what we like to call a Drive-Thru garage sale. The shelf is $5.00 and Johnnie wants it. After it is taken apart we realize that it won't fit into the car anywhere. Looks like we are coming back to this one too! We think it is so funny when we come back pulling our trailer to pick up this plastic shelf but we also had other homes to hit to pick up left behind stuff. Our trailer is now loaded down and I don't think we can fit anything else in it. Guess its time to go home.

Johnnie and I have been working hard on getting the furniture refinished. It is so hot in the back of the building! I have ruined more clothes painting in them that I now have a pile of "painting" clothes. I guess I think if Johnnie can paint without getting anything on her that I can. WRONG! Channah and I can just look at the paint can and we have it all over us. We have been working on this bedroom set that has a vanity, a tall dresser, end table and headboard. It looked pretty ugly and outdated before. Now it is so cute if I must say! Just needs 1 more coat and they are heading out to put in the antique store. Pictures will come. Too bad Channah hasn't felt like coming up and chatting with us. She could be getting some great pictures of Johnnie and I working hard.
It rained really hard yesterday and when I got to the shop it had water in the back. Not alot but enough to make us have to move it all around. Good time to organize I guess. GREAT!

Spring 2010

OK, so lately it’s been a little hectic. It all started in March when we were trying to plan for Channahs baby shower, she was trying to get the nursery room fixed up all cute. Charla and I were busy bees trying to get some furniture fixed for the shop while Channah worked on the baby’s dresser/changing table. So my friend goes out and rents this huge building, with a large shop on the back of it, for another business (which he only needs the office space for) so we decide to bring all our furniture pieces up to the shop to get them out of Channah and Charlas garage. Channahs hubby, Ben, was very happy he got his garage back. Then back to planning the baby shower. It can’t be a regular baby shower. It has to look like a Martha Stewart baby shower. Charla and myself can’t stop ourselves from buying little bird things (that’s what the babies room is decorated in it’s so cute). Ok, the night before the shower all the hostess get together Charla, Misty, Aunt Missy, and myself to go shopping to get all the food we need. We cut everything up that we can and prepare everything that we can. By then its like 2 or 3 in the morning. Channah and Misty have already given up and are sleeping on the couches. Charla and I are planning the Saturday our, what time do we need to get up, where all we have to go. We still have to pick up the table and the chairs we rented, and go to the few stores we didn’t get to go to the night before. Charla and I get up at 7:30 am we are hooked up to the trailer and out the door by 8:30am, and leave Channah and Misty sleeping in there comfy beds. We make 2 stops and on the way to our 3rd stop we see a yard sale, so of course we have to stop. We were doing so well, we were ahead of schedule. This is awesome for us. By the time we get back to my house we are still ahead of schedule. We start decorating the back yard. We have so many decorations we can’t even use them all, we would need like 3 more tables to use all the decorations. We get cleaned up finish the food with Aunt Missy and Channah. By that time the guests start to arrive. The back yard looks awesome; it was picture perfect, except the wind kept blowing the chocolate fountain all over the bananas and the table cloth. But, it turned out awesome!!

April 2009

April 2009
We decided to go on a “buying trip” to Georgetown, Texas. We drove all day and we decided to eat right as we got there. So, when we were done we realized it was already 4:30 and most of the shops close at 5:00 or 5:30. We are thinking WHAT A WASTE OF DAY till we decide to just get a hotel and stay the night and then have all day to go to the shops!!! All except we are trying to be cheap, so we call our friend in Bryan, TX to ask if we can stay there. Of course we could but we had no clothes. So we go to Wal-Mart and get some shorts and tooth paste, etc and go back to our friend’s house. In the morning, we get up laughing (as usual) until our friend comes in the room and asked where we parked our car. We said out in front of your apartment. To make a looooong story short, our car was GONE! We called the insurance to get the VIN # then we called the police station and we were told it was repossessed. There was no way!! The police in Bryan had the wrong VIN # so we had to report it stolen. The whole time we were worried about our antiques that we had bought on the way there, not our GPS, our gun, or belongings in the car :) So, the cops tell us that we need to come down to the police station and make a report but HELLLLLOOOOO our car is gone!!! So, after a ton of calls all over the place we find out that our car had been towed. We parked in a regular parking spot, not in a visitor parking spot. We, nor our friend, were aware of the “visitor parking” they spoke of. So, we call a taxi because our friend had to leave. We don’t ride in taxis here so we didn’t know what to expect or anything. Finally, we get a taxi to pick us up. It was this little old lady that gave my sister (because she got the front seat) an entire tour of Bryan, TX on the way to the tow company. We get there to get our car, pay our $325.00!!!!! and there was a ton of other very angry people there to get their cars too. We were thinking there was going to be a fight because the tow truck people were being so rude to everyone. We just wanted to pay and leave. We got our car and you would think after all this, we would just want to go home and be done with this trip but nooooooooooooooooooooooo we had shopping to do!!!!!!!!!!!!! We go back to Georgetown which was not just a hop, skip, and a jump from Bryan. We shop and have a blast!! Oh, I forgot to tell you that Charla was the one who parked our car in the regular parking because Johnnie fell off the curb and hurt her ankle so it was swollen. It’s mean of us but all we could do is laugh at her because somehow her flip flop made it into the air higher than her head. It was quite an adventure. We should’ve known by this point, it was going to be a journey
